Founded in 1870 in Rio de Janeiro by the Portuguese José Antonio Coxito Granado, whose farm acted as the resource for its perfumery. After three generations in the hands of the Granado family, Englishman Christopher Freeman now chairs the company, leading it through a process of constant modernization while staying true to its traditions.

International Prescence

In 2013, Granado was invited to partner with one of Paris' most prestigious luxury department stores Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche, opening its first door in the European market. This started off Granado's international expansion which is on a successful growth trajectory. Granado now has its own concept stores in Paris, Lisbon and London, and stores-in-store at Liberty, UK and at INNO, BE.

150 years of tradition
An Exhibition & A Book

In 2020, Granado celebrated its 150th anniversary and presented exclusive launches such as Granado's book published by prestigious book publisher Assouline, including other limited editions and a special collection. Granado’s historical archives were also shown for the first time to the public through the exhibition “The story of the most traditional apothecary of Brazil” held in Brazil's most important cultural institutions, MUSEU HISTÓRICO NACIONAL, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
